Our Process

Med Legal has achieved categorical leadership through a systematic approach to medical records management. By way of our patented medical record review process, our seasoned team of Legal Nurse Consultants, Life Care Planners and Billing Auditors work together to ensure that Med Legal’s clients receive the crucial ammunition required to consistently achieve the best possible outcomes in their injury related cases.

Our patented medical record review process, MCAP®, requires that every case passes through three levels of analysis.

  • During the first level, an expert legal nurse reviews all of the medical and billing records, abstracting key content, providing thorough analysis of pertinent information, recommending ways to improve litigation management, and identifying missing records.
  • The second level of review, also preformed by a seasoned legal nurse, provides a subsequent level of examination and assessment for perspective and quality assurance. This reviewer analyzes the initial legal nurse’s assessment of the facts and provides additional insight into the extractions, analysis and recommendations in the reports.
  • The final, editorial level of review ensures that the reports are well written and that the content is easily accessible, with clear definitions of all medical terminology.

Med Legal’s patented system of medical record management makes it easy for us to take on large projects, like environmental torts and multi-plaintiff pharmaceutical cases, and consistently delivers the information you need in a timely manner. Med Legal follows a similar collaborative approach with our life care planning and medical bill auditing services, ensuring that every service Med Legal provides is thorough and built with your case strategy in mind.
