Our Team

The Med Legal team consists of three major departments: Operations, Client Service and Executive Oversight.

Our highly skilled Operations Department includes Legal Nurse Consultants, Life Care Planners and Billing Auditors that undergo the industry’s most aggressive vetting and training processes. These seasoned legally trained medical professionals are experts in their craft – extracting the subtle, case-changing facts that set Med Legal apart as leaders in our industry.

Once you’ve partnered with Med Legal, you will be guided through our three-tiered review process by Med Legal’s Client Service Department. Our client service representatives will reach out periodically with report generation updates and will continue to be avalible to discuss any medically related case issues until you reach a resolution.

Med Legal’s Operations and Client Service Departments are guided by our Executive Oversight Team, who work tirelessly to guarantee that Med Legal continues to offer best in class medical record reviews, life care plans and medical billing audits. Our Chief Executive Officer, Nancy Fraser Michalski, RN, who founded Med Legal in 2000, is a registered nurse with over 25 years of clinical experience and 10,000 surgeries under her belt. Nancy’s entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to innovating the legal services industry has created a company culture of excellence in the reports we deliver and the services we provide. Sarah McCann, Chief Operating Officer of Med Legal, has played an integral role in executing Nancy’s vision for Med Legal. Sarah has evolved Med Legal’s business strategy as well as technological and intellectual platforms – resulting in a seamless operational structure and process that consistently delivers the world’s best medical record reviews.

 

Nancy Fraser Michalski, RN, BSN:

Nancy Fraser Michalski is Chief Executive Officer of Med Legal Consulting Source, which she founded in 2000 to provide customized medical record review services for plaintiff and defense attorneys, insurance companies and corporations. A registered nurse for more than 25 years, she has assisted in more than 10,000 surgeries.

Nancy’s distinguished career includes prominent roles as a business owner and administrator. In 1987, she co-founded a multi-specialty surgery center in Santa Monica, California, where she oversaw business operations, managed a medical staff of 350, and coordinated the center’s three operating rooms.

Nancy received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds a certificate from the University of Southern California in healthcare management development.

Sarah McCann:

As Chief Operating Officer for Med Legal Consulting Source, Sarah has played an integral role in Med Legal’s development and continued success. Through her contributions, Med Legal has evolved its business strategy as well as technological and intellectual platforms – the outcomes of which include new policies and procedures as well as operational streamlining and efficiencies.

Her full docket includes managing casework, maintaining quality standards, and assuring confidentiality and security compliance with HIPAA. A multi-talented business professional, she also oversees the Med Legal staff, licensed nurse consultants, project managers and editors. Sarah is a graduate of Villanova University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in management.
